  • Most golf injuries occur due to improper grip and swing mechanic, but a lack of fitness and flexibility also contribute to most common golf injuries and pain.

  • In general, professional golfers have more overuse injuries due to hours of practice, while amateurs are more likely to get injured from lack of conditioning, poor swing mechanics, and improper club grip.

What does the program consist of?

  • A comprehensive functional golf assessment including a personal golf history, biomechanical evaluation, and movement analysis of your golf swing.

  • Manual therapy to address faulty movement patterns, muscular and soft tissue tightness, muscle weakness, and compensations.

Self Help Tips:

  • Make sure you do a proper warm-up with a 10 minute walk and stretching.

  • To help prevent hand, wrist, and elbow injuries try using larger and/or softer club grips, select irons with large heads and “sweet spots” to lessen vibration, and use clubs with graphite shafts which also help to lessen vibration.

  • Select the correct club length: the end of the club should extend slightly beyond the palm of the leading hand.

  • Prevent back injuries by keeping the spine vertical during the follow-through to avoid hyperextension through the spine.
